Kirsten Light is a director in the Commercial practice and helps lead the Tax Technology and Automation group, which assists clients with strategic and operational challenges facing their tax functions. Services in this area focus on improving the effectiveness of the tax function and the implementation of tax processes and software tools. They include advisory assistance with tax function reviews, process redesign, software implementation and enhancement, tax data enablement of source systems, and related training and change management services.

Kirsten serves as a solution architect, focusing on process assessment and design, tax engine implementation, automation, modeling, and ERP tax requirement definition. She brings a diverse tax technical background that helps her understand client challenges in the areas of preparation, management, and oversight of the Provision, Compliance, Planning, Controversy, Transfer Pricing, Indirect Tax, and Mergers and Acquisition functions.

Kirsten has served as a trusted advisor to clients across a broad spectrum of industries and profiles, including Fortune 100 enterprises, startups, and private equity.

In prior roles, Kirsten has served as a national leader for a strategic alliance between EY and Thomson Reuters and was part of EY's Americas Tax Innovation team. She also has significant experience working on merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions and defining the technology needs for the new business structures.

Kirsten is an annual presenter at the Thomson Reuters SYNERGY conference on thought leadership topics as well as best practices around the use of the Thomson Reuters suite of products. In addition, Kirsten is a recent finalist of the Thomson Reuters Taxologist of the Year award (certified implementer category), which recognizes market-leading tax professionals that excel in the use and implementation of tax technology.
