Mohamed Karabibane is a director within the State and Local Tax practice. He has consulted on state and local income and franchise, gross receipts, sales & use, and property tax matters since 2013. During his career, Mohamed served various client service teams, and his primary responsibilities included working with clients to resolve issues related to state and local tax matters.

Mohamed has served businesses ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies in high-technology, financial services, manufacturing, retail industries, and professional services. Mohamed's services included numerous compliance and consulting engagements, such as:

  • Identifying client issues, implementing planning opportunities, and securing refunds
  • Advising clients on a broad range of state and local tax issues via technical memoranda, nexus studies, and multistate taxability decision matrices
  • Assisting state and local tax mergers & acquisition practice groups with due diligence and legal entity structuring
  • Managing voluntary disclosure services in most states
  • Advising clients on state tax credits & incentives

Mohamed is heavily invested in the training and recruitment of SALT team members to help develop our future leaders.
