Patrick Kapios is a director in Andersen's Commercial practice within the Boston office. With a career spanning more than 17 years, he has advised clients on matters pertaining to federal and state research credits, the federal orphan drug credit, and Section 174 affairs.

Within his role at Andersen, Patrick assists clients to identify and evaluate qualified R&D activities while also advising them through IRS and state R&D examinations. Patrick advises both large companies and start-up entities across an array of industries, including life sciences, biotechnology, software development, consumer products, and financial services.

Before joining Andersen, Patrick assumed the role of senior manager in EY'ss Quantitative Services practice, contributing to the preparation and defense of federal and state research credits as well as engaging in the preparation and review of ASC 740 R&D calculations.
